VanSaun's Grocery Store and Gas Station

At the corner of Belhaven Avenue and Shore Road, VanSaun's store was a favorite stopping place for children of the Belhaven School. Later owned by the Bouchers, today it's the Linwood Saw and Tool Company. Alonzo Van Saun's first business was a small gas station and battery shop on the other side of Shore Road. That building was moved to City Hall around 1945 and was the police station for many years. It is now the workshop building of the Leedsville School Museum.
