Mechanics Hall

Known now as the American Legion Hall, Mechanics Hall on Elm Avenue was built to serve as the headquarters for the Jr. Order of American Mechanics. For a time the building was shared with a group called Patriotic Sons of America, an early 20th century veterans organization. The building has served as a meeting place and community center throughout its history. The Linwood Borough Council held its meetings here from 1906 until 1908 when the old Leedsville School became city hall.
